CHICAGO (AP) — The man accused of killing a 9-year-old Chicago girl who had been riding her scooter outside crossed a street and headed straight toward her in the vestibule of her apartment building before shooting her, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Inside the darkened vestibule, a man greeted her, and she resisted his entreaties to bring her farther inside and stepped out into the courtyard.
In the entrance hall is a wooden front door which leads into vestibule which in turn opens into an L-shaped hall with doors to living room and kitchen/dining room, plus a store room with door to courtyard garden, double radiator, stairs to first floor.
