December 19, 2023 Update: Johnson & Johnson (J&J) seeks to disqualify a plaintiffs’ attorney and their law firm from the talcum powder multidistrict litigation.
For the last 14 months, new talcum powder lawsuits have not been filed because there was an automatic stay in place while J&J attempted to pull the talc liabilities into bankruptcy.

Hairdressers, beauticians and related workers were the jobs most frequently exposed to 13 agents including ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, organic dyes and pigments, and bleaches, and the second most frequent occupation exposed to talcum powder.
J&J announced this week that it will stop using talcum powder in any products beginning next year.
Not very long after the Missouri Court of Appeals rejected J&J’s various arguments and affirmed $2 billion of the jury award, J&J announced the first major global settlement in the talcum powder lawsuits.
