Team member Subhajit Sarkar of Cardiff University said: “Although this kind of planet does not exist in our solar system, sub-Neptunes are the most common type of planet known so far in the galaxy.
Though these kinds of planets are non-existent in the solar system, observation programs have shown for several years that these super-Earths and sub-Neptunes are nevertheless abundant in our galaxy.
