Salmond also used his speech to say that Alba had used the two years since its founding to “establish our credentials as a social democratic party in the mainstream of the Scottish political tradition”.

The former SNP leader also rejected any possibility of reconciliation with her former mentor and predecessor Alex Salmond, stating she believed he had revealed himself to be someone she did not want to spend time with.
The investigation of the complaints against Mr Salmond had been extraordinarily shoddy.
