Even though the longliners report it is only 4% of their catch and with access to tuna they would quit fishing sailfish when tuna has recovered which it has, they don’t want to honor their word.

This project met the requirements to issue licenses to commercial longliners to have a more sustainable method to catch tuna and lower bycatch of sailfish.
