In Asian trading, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 0.2 per cent, Tokyo's Nikkei 225 by 1.1 per cent and the Kospi in Seoul by 1.3 per cent.
In Seoul, the Kospi declined 0.6% to 2,566.16.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell -1.3% and South Korea's Kospi lost -0.8%.
South Korea’s Kospi added 0.3 percent to 2,471.02.
The Kospi sank 0.2% to 2,426.41 and Sydney's S&P-ASX 200 was little-changed at 7,308.
The S&P/ASX 200 in Sydney gained 0.7% to 7,537.90, while South Korea’s Kospi was 1.8% higher to 2,613.44.
