If the initial study goes well, the researchers to conduct a longer study with the National Institutes of Health that will cover the effects of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones from “each life stage into old age,” according to the documents.
Licenses could also be revoked if a physician provided a minor with cross-sex hormone therapy or with “puberty-blocking medication to delay, hinder, stop or reverse normal puberty.”

Offering surgery, puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to minors who identify as transgender, which has risen markedly this past decade, has also left some people angry with the medical profession, said Dr Goldfarb.
The British Journal of Medicine looked at 61 systematic reviews with the conclusion that, quote, ‘There is great uncertainty about the effects of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries in young people.’
There are limits, and states have the right to acknowledge the serious medical risks associated with puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones and prohibit them accordingly.
