FRIDAY, May 19, 2023 (HealthDay News) -- Hysterectomy is the second most common surgery for women in their reproductive years, right after cesarean section.
"Prophylactic administration of tranexamic acid during cesarean delivery did not lead to a lower risk of maternal death or blood transfusion," the authors write.
The cesarean section birth rate rose slightly, to 32.2% of births.

The researchers reported that experts agreed to name this condition cesarean scar disorder, which was defined as a uterine niche in combination with at least one primary or two secondary symptoms (rate of agreement, 77.8 percent).
