Further research from the Ramblers and the New Economics Foundation think tank showed the average postcode in Shropshire has found kilometres of footpaths, bridleways and other walking routes within a 10-minute walk.
It is a long-distance trail race that covers 105 miles over the Lakeland fells, and includes in the region of 6,300m of ascent and consists almost entirely of public bridleways and footpaths.
“The council and Cormac both say it isn’t dangerous even though they have put in crash barriers adjacent to one of the bridleways, so if you are on a horse, you are pushed out into the road and there is no way to get out of the way.”
There are 2.5km of footpaths and bridleways, and adventure play area and shire horse sculptures.
