Bacot said his parents emphasized the importance of giving back to others.
By Gene Galin Charlotte, NC – During the 2023 ACC Basketball Tipoff event Carolina basketball coach Hubert Davis and student-athletes Armando Bacot and R.J. Davis spoke to the media.
Davis made it 63-62 before Bacot, the hero of the half, gave North Carolina a one-point lead with a pair of free throws.
Davis was 14-for-14 from the line and Bacot made all seven of his tries.

Even after passing Tyler Hansbrough for the program's rebounding record and Billy Cunningham for the all-time double-doubles crown in Chapel Hill, Bacot is back for Act 5 at North Carolina.
For example, if I’m Bacot, a back-to-the-basket 6’9” guy, I’m not sure I want to be setting screens, catching pocket passes and shooting mid-range jumpers at UVA, when I can play to my strengths at Carolina.
