They said a reactive speed sign had been installed at one end of the road – the entrance to the village from the Wallyford and Inveresk direction – but not at the other, which takes motorists to and from the Midlothian town of Dalkeith.
Tranent, Wallyford and Macmerry ward councillor Lee-Anne Menzies said that the volume of cars in the town was “unacceptable” and believed introducing car parking fees would help.
