Ople was the first secretary of the DMW, a government agency formed last year to protect the rights and promote the welfare of about two million OFWs.
Senator Raffy Tulfo, who presided over the hearing, first lamented how Ople had shot down his recommendation to impose a deployment ban to Kuwait.
“Thank God, we are now at the final stages of closing this most trying issue that has dragged on for years,” DMW Secretary Susan ‘Toots’ Ople said in a virtual press conference as she expressed hope that the labor concern will soon be finally resolved.
