In 2019, Senator Ndume lost the Senate Presidency race to incumbent Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
Ndume later led two other members of the committee to meet with Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Joe Ajaero; and his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Festus Osifo.
Ndume, while speaking on the matter, clarified that all senators receive a standardised amount of ₦2 million each as part of their statutory entitlement.
