Bruce and Nicola Jamieson, from the Mackintosh Club in Sinclair Street, have registered a new community interest company (CIC) - in the hope they can secure the funding to buy the town's M&Co store.
Industry experts also said at the time that M&Co had not attracted high street players such as Frasers, Next and Marks & Spencer who have recently swooped on bust retailers.
It’s flagship Droitwich store has already closed after M&Co went into administration for the second time at the end of last year.

“The M&Co 'Brand' has been purchased, but unfortunately this does not include a future for our stores, website, or staff.
The retailer opened its Newport shop on Saturday morning, at 34-35 High Street, in the former M&Co premises.
They added: “We note this development does cut down on retail space in the town as M&Co had two levels of retail.
"We had one of our best days of the year on Easter Saturday - and the figures have been very good - and it would be good to see M&Co quickly filled next door."
