Andy Murray has conjured another extraordinary comeback win at the Australian Open, coming from two sets down to defeat home favourite Thanasi Kokkinakis in an epic encounter which finished at 4.05am.
Doubles is a lot less taxing on the body and mentally it's a bit easier as well," Kokkinakis said.
Early breaks in each set were too much for Kokkinakis to overcome in the face of Alcaraz’s speed and power.

Like Draper, 27-year-old Kokkinakis has been badly affected by injuries through his career, while he has had trouble closing out matches, including in a near six-hour epic against Murray at the Australian Open in January that finished after 4am.
Stefanos Tsitsipas voiced the thoughts of everyone who witnessed Andy Murray’s incredible late-night heroics against Thanasi Kokkinakis when he saw him back at Melbourne Park on Friday.
The tournament will be hoping that the new changes avoid matches going into the early hours of the morning as Murray claimed that his 4am finish against Kokkinakis took away from the match itself.

Veteran Andy Murray battled through a five-set epic against home hope Thanasi Kokkinakis which ended at 4:05 am Friday to reach the third round, calling the early hours conclusion “a bit of a farce”.
When Kokkinakis moved 5-2 ahead in the third, the match looked all but over, but Murray refused to give in, breaking back when the Australian served for it and then clinching the tie-break thanks to a horrible missed smash from his opponent.
