From the moment we see him, gorgeously animated, like newspaper clips hand-cut and pasted together, Hobie is unlike any other character in the film.

Hobie even takes some time to impart some advice on fighting the man to Miles— moments before Miles is confronted by the man.

Spider-Punk also presented a unique challenge in that it was hard to introduce a character that was even cooler than Miles Morales, but the filmmakers were determined to include Hobie in some capacity.
