Felder was kicked out of the band early in 2002 and Frey in 2016.
Felder, who was elected in 2022, began his Aiken County Council term simultaneously with Mike Kellems, who serves District 2. Terms run for four years.
Frey died in January 2016, aged 67; Felder, for his part, had continued with the band until 2001, when his dismissal led to a series of expensive lawsuits.
He was described as 'the sweetest man in the music business' by former bandmate Don Felder and an integral part of the Eagles.
