Disneyland’s centerpiece went by several other names — including Robin Hood’s Castle, Snow White’s Castle, Cinderella’s Castle and Fantasyland Castle — before settling on Sleeping Beauty Castle by opening day in 1955, according to the exhibit catalog.

Since 1971, the All-American College Band has performed in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, along Main Street U.S.A. and in Disneyland’s Town Square.
