A pair of councillors have raised concerns over the impact of the school capacity saga at Dargavel Village on plans for a new school in Johnstone.

Dargavel Primary opened last year with a capacity of 548 and has had to install six temporary classrooms this summer to cope with increased pupil numbers.

Dargavel said his wife suffers from chronic fatigue and brain fog since her liver is unable to properly cleanse her blood.

The news comes as Labour councillors for the Johnstone ward raised concerns that the £70m needed to address school capacity issues at Dargavel would come at a cost to existing proposals for newbuilds and refurbishments across the school estate.
