A man has been arrested after a woman’s body was found in a marina in Caversham.

It comes following the death of Ruth Perry, headteacher at Caversham Primary School in Reading, who killed herself in January while awaiting an Ofsted report which downgraded her school from the highest rating to the lowest possible.

JORDAN BROOKER, 22, of Hemdean Road, Caversham, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour within hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress on March 10 this year.

Mrs Perry, 53, led the Caversham Primary school in Reading and took her own life two months ago after being told the school's management was being downgraded from Outstanding to Inadequate.
