Braverman's article is pretty mild on the facts.
That's why I applaud elements of Suella Braverman's speech in Washington yesterday in which she declared that merely being gay or female and fearful of discrimination should no longer automatically amount to grounds for asylum.
The ex-Cabinet minister, who had the Tory whip withdrawn over his controversial appearance on TV's I'm A Celebrity last year, also questioned the 'tone' of Mrs Braverman's address to the conference.
“We're extremely concerned that Suella Braverman's latest legislation will give her the power to transform these completely unsuitable sites into closed detention facilities, trapping people behind high fences for months or even years.”
