Imphal, June 30: A day after he was stopped by a huge Manipur Police contingent, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited relief camps in Moirang, Bishnupur district, where he met people affected by the ethnic violence.

Last week, the Manipur Police had registered an FIR accusing the personnel of the ninth battalion of Assam Rifles of blocking their movement in Bishnupur district.

Most of these vulnerable areas are situated in the peripheral areas of valley districts bordering Kuki- dominated districts, including the Torbung area of Bishnupur district, which is at the epicentre of the latest flare-up of tensions in the state.
