ATHENS – With Greece forced after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to return to using coal-fired plants to generate electricity, the state’s Public Power Corporation will acquire the developer of a 216 Megawatt wind farm off Alexandroupolis.
Late Monday, health authorities started to partially evacuate a hospital on the outskirts of Alexandroupolis as a precaution.
This is expected to last until the summer, which means that a large number of military and civilian employees of the US armed forces will permanently reside in Alexandroupolis.
